Beta Scuti, Latinized from β Scuti, is a binary star system in the southern constellation Scutum, located roughly 670 light years from the Sun. It is a spectroscopic binary whose secondary was directly detected by the Navy Precision Optical Interferometer, enabling mass determination via dynamical parallax.
