Beta Pyxidis is a double star in the southern constellation Pyxis. With an apparent visual magnitude of 3.954, it is the second brightest star in that faint constellation. The primary is a G-type bright giant or giant star with an unusually high rotation rate, possibly due to having engulfed a giant planet.
