Iota Pavonis is a binary star in the southern constellation Pavo, faintly visible to the naked eye from the southern hemisphere at magnitude 5.47. It lies about 17.79 parsecs from the Sun and consists of a solar-type primary star with a low-mass stellar companion detected through radial velocity and astrometry.

Properties
The primary star is a G-type main sequence star with classification G0 V, similar to the Sun but slightly hotter, more luminous, and larger, with a slightly lower metallicity. At roughly 7 billion years old, it is significantly older than the Sun. Radial velocity and astrometric measurements indicate the low-mass stellar companion has a mass of about 0.13 solar masses and follows a moderately eccentric orbit.
