BVB 09

Ballspielverein Borussia 09, known as BVB.

BVB is the initialism of Ballspielverein Borussia 09 e. V. Dortmund, the sports club from Dortmund in North Rhine-Westphalia whose men's football team plays in the Bundesliga. Eighteen footballers founded it in 1909, and it is nicknamed Die Schwarzgelben after the black and yellow of its crest.

By membership it is the second-biggest sports club in Germany, behind Bayern Munich. At home it has eight national titles, five DFB-Pokals and six Supercups; abroad it won the Champions League and the Intercontinental Cup in 1997 and the Cup Winners' Cup in 1966. Its home since 1974 has been the Westfalenstadion, Germany's largest stadium.
