The club was founded in 1907 as Abeille des Aydes, initially offering gymnastics and shooting. Basketball was introduced after the war. Between 1986 and 1995, under coach Jean-Raoul Baudry, ADA Basket climbed from Regional 2 to National 2 with four consecutive promotions from 1987 to 1991. However, after the 1994–1995 season, the club filed for bankruptcy and was relegated to Regional 1. In 2001, the first team returned to National 2, the level it had played in 1994–1995.

On 10 September 2005, ADA Blois Basket played its first match in National 1. The team was relegated that season but returned the following year. After losing playoff finals in 2012, 2013, and 2015, the club won the National 1 championship in 2016, earning promotion to Pro B for the first time. The championship was clinched on 29 March 2016 with a 75–50 home win against La Rochelle, five days before the end of the season.

In the 2017–18 season, Blois finished first in the Pro B regular season with a 27–7 record, winning the Pro B title and earning promotion to Pro A. Power forward Tyren Johnson was named Pro B Most Valuable Player. However, due to insufficient infrastructure, the club remained in the second division. In 2022, Blois won the promotion play-offs to access the top-tier division for the first time in their history.
