Vaatu
The primal spirit of chaos and darkness.
Vaatu is the primal spirit of chaos, strife and darkness in The Legend of Korra, the other half of Raava, spirit of harmony and light. Their battle is a visual reference to the yin and yang symbol.
Lore & Background
Raava and Vaatu are among the oldest spirits and fought each other for ages without either winning; even if Raava destroyed Vaatu, the darkness left in her would grow until he was reborn. Raava fused with Wan to become the Avatar spirit. During the Harmonic Convergence Unalaq freed Vaatu and united with him to become a dark Avatar.
