Nekropsi
Turkish group fusing thrash metal with progressive and electronic elements.
Nekropsi, originally formed as "Necropsy" in 1989, is a band based in Istanbul, Turkey. Reader's Guide
Nekropsi's significance lies in their role as an early Turkish band that defied genre boundaries, merging thrash metal with progressive rock, electronica, and noise. Their debut *Mi Kubbesi* (1996) marked a departure from their thrash metal origins, creating a hybrid sound that resisted easy classification. The band's ten-year hiatus between albums and the subsequent re-release of *Mi Kubbesi* as *1998* in 2010 highlight their enduring, if intermittent, presence. Their discography includes digital singles on Bandcamp and a compilation, *Sular Yükseliyor* (1996). Live appearances include a 2001 show at Institut français d'Istanbul and a 1998 performance with Jimmy Page & Robert Plant in Istanbul. The group's current and former personnel reflect a rotating lineup, with Cem Ömeroğlu, Cevdet Erek, Kerem Tüzün, and Gökhan Goralı as current members.
