Aarni's second album, Tohcoth, followed in February 2008, and a CD-R EP titled Omnimantia was released later that year. In April 2012, Aarni released a split album with Persistence in Mourning.

The band's official website lists four members, referred to as 'Responsible Cultists': Master Warjomaa, Comte de Saint-Germain, Doomintroll, and Mistress Palm. However, many sources suggest these additional members may be fictional characters created by Warjomaa. The Count of Saint-Germain is described as a French count born in 1665, Doomintroll is a cartoon character with an Aarni logo T-shirt, and Mistress Palm is depicted as an elderly woman.
