Production
In May 2023, a new Australian take on the BBC's The Office was announced. It is the thirteenth adaptation in the franchise and the third in English. The show is a co-production between BBC Studios Australia & New Zealand, Bunya Entertainment, and Amazon MGM Studios. Julie De Fina and Jackie van Beek created the Australian version and executive produce with Kylie Washington and Sophia Zachariou; Linda Micsko is the producer. Ricky Gervais shared his excitement about the project. Felicity Ward plays Hannah Howard, making this the franchise's first series with a woman in the lead role. Several characters originally male in the British and American versions were reimagined as women. Filming happened in mid-2023 in Rydalmere, Sydney.
