Eddie Mathews hit his 500th career home run on July 14, 1967, off pitcher Bob Priddy of the San Francisco Giants at Candlestick Park. He was the eighth player to reach the 500 home run club and the third National Leaguer to do so, behind Mel Ott and Willie Mays.
