Greg Maddux won four consecutive National League Cy Young Awards from 1992 to 1995, the only pitcher to achieve this feat. He won his first with the Chicago Cubs before joining the Atlanta Braves in 1993, where he won the next three. Maddux led the NL in ERA all four years.

Maddux was signed by the Braves prior to the 1993 season after winning the NL Cy Young Award with the Cubs in 1992. He then won Cy Young Awards in 1993, 1994, and 1995 with Atlanta, each time leading the league in ERA. His 1994 season featured a 1.56 ERA, and his 1995 season included a 19–2 record and a 1.63 ERA.
