Nemesis 2 (MSX)
MSX sequel with Metalion, cut-scenes, and SCC sound.
Nemesis 2 is a side-scrolling shoot 'em up for the MSX computer, released by Konami in 1987. It is the sequel to the MSX conversion of the first Gradius, which was sold as Nemesis in Europe. The game predates the arcade Gradius II, known in Europe as Vulcan Venture. It was the first Konami MSX cartridge to use the SCC sound chip, providing five extra wave channels. Unlike other series entries, the player controls the ship Metalion rather than Vic Viper, and the game places a heavier emphasis on story, told through cut-scenes. Defeating bosses and flying Metalion into their position can unlock mini-levels that grant permanent upgrades.
