Release and reception
Nemesis hit Japanese Game Boys on February 23, 1990. Famicom Tsūshin’s four critics all called it a well-made Gradius port, highlighting its speed, detailed visuals, and handy rapid-fire and stage-select features. One praised its performance on the handheld but noted the small screen and sluggish controls as drawbacks. Total!’s Steve Jarratt deemed it a superb version of a classic arcade title.
