Siracusa
It is a confederation of twenty-two autonomous city-states controlled by twelve mafia families called the Dodici Famiglie.[1] The modern nation was founded after gaining independence from Leithanien, but it fell into decades of anarchy until Signora Sicilia unified the families under a common law.[1] The country is predominantly populated by Lupos and Vulpos.[1][2] Siracusa's capital is Montelupe, and its de facto head of state is Signora Sicilia.[2]
Siracusa's currency is the Siracusan florin, and its language is Siracusan, based on Italian.[2]

Anarchy period
After independence, a suicide bomber destroyed the City-State Alliance assembly hall, killing all government ministers and starting a seventy-year anarchy.[3] Signora Sicilia ended the anarchy in 1039 by unifying the Dodici Famiglie under the Grey Hall using the Lateran Church and a legal system called Pistole e Ordine.[3]
Present day
Siracusan mafia families expanded into Columbia after its Revolutionary War, but were ordered to return to Siracusa after the purge of Famiglia Texas in 1092.[4] Currently, the Joint Council and Court of the Comuni oversee the Grey Hall, yet stability is undermined by doubts over Sicilia's authority.[4]
