Columbia
It is a federal presidential republic with legislative, executive, and judicial branches, but President Mark Max has held the executive branch for an extended period.[1] Columbia began as a Victorian colony that declared independence with Gaulish support and won a war for independence.[1] The nation is a melting pot of various races and cultures, and it claims to treat everyone equally, including the Infected and Sarkaz.[1] In practice, Columbia secretly exploits the Infected, Sarkaz, and commoners by enticing them to settle in dangerous, undeveloped wastelands as pioneers.[1]
Columbia's expansionism and interventionism have led to conflict with Bolívar and political influence over Sargon and Sami.[1] The Columbian Union is the formal name of a Terran country situated on the continent's northwestern corner.[1]

The Revolutionary War
Mark Max joined the Revolutionary Army and shifted the war's outcome, which resulted in independence.[2]
Columbian expansionism
Columbia keeps pushing westward by promoting the 'Columbian Dream' to draw in pioneers, some of whom are criminals or Infected.[3]
Present day
In 1099, Columbia became the first nation to reach the hidden truth about Terra's sky through the Horizon Arc Project, triggering a social phenomenon called 'Skymania'.[4] Today, Columbia stays politically steady and welcomes immigrants from abroad, yet its military chases technological dominance through dubious methods.[4]
