Characters

Amarendra Baahubali is a boisterous young prince of Mahishmati, son of former king Vikramadeva, and a skilled warrior who cares deeply for his people. Bhallaldeva, son of Queen Shivagami and Lord Bijjaladeva, is a contender for the throne who wants to rule with an iron fist. Sivagami, mother of Bhallaldeva and wife of Bijjaladeva, rules the kingdom since Vikramadeva's death but never occupies the throne. Kattappa is an exceptional warrior and loyal commander of the Mahishmati army who often rescues people in trouble. Bijjaladeva, father of Bhallaldeva and husband of Shivagami, is motivated by greed and power, wanting his son to claim the throne and disliking Baahubali. Pradhan Guru is a mysterious royal teacher, an extremely skilled fighter and cunning, whose ulterior motives against Mahishmati lead to his death at Kattappa's hands. Yadhuvanshi, King of Rudragni and ally of Mahishmati, is an old sick man killed by his daughter Princess Yamagni in a plot by his son Prince Varaah. Varaah, a vicious and ruthless ruler who usurps the throne after having his father killed, despises Mahishmati and is jealous of its wealth; his hidden family is used as leverage by Bhallaldeva, and he is killed by his sister Yamagni. Yamagni, sister of Varaah and Queen of Rudragni, is kind-hearted and brave, a lover of Bahubali, responsible for her father's death, and later kills her brother to become queen. Aakansh is a good friend of both princes; Bhallaladeva's hatred for him ends with his death in Amaram Kingdom.
