Go! Princess Pretty Cure

Go! Princess Pretty Cure is a Japanese magical girl anime from 2015, produced by Toei Animation. It is the twelfth series in the Pretty Cure metaseries and features the tenth generation of Cures. The story centers on hopes and dreams, and the Cures are themed around princesses, keys, and perfumes.

The plot begins eight years before the main events, when a young girl named Haruka Haruno dreams of becoming a princess like those in fairy tales. Her classmates bully her for this, but she meets a boy named Kanata, who gives her a charm and makes her promise never to give up on her dreams. Eight years later, at age 13, Haruka attends Noble Academy boarding school. She encounters two fairies from the Hope Kingdom, Pafu and Aroma, who are being chased by a man named Close. The fairies explain that Close works for Dys Dark, an organization led by the witch Dyspear, who seeks to bring despair by locking dreams in the Gate of Despair. Haruka’s charm turns out to be a Dress Up Key, and with a Princess Perfume from the fairies, she transforms into Cure Flora, a warrior of the Hope Kingdom. She is joined by Minami Kaido, Kirara Amanogawa, and Towa Akagi, who become Cure Mermaid, Cure Twinkle, and Cure Scarlet. Together, the Princess Pretty Cure Team collects Dress Up Keys to open the Gate of Dreams and protect people’s dreams from Dys Dark.

The four Cures—Cure Flora, Cure Mermaid, Cure Twinkle, and Cure Scarlet—are chosen by their Dress Up Keys. They use Princess Perfumes to transform by saying "Pretty Cure Princess Engage!" and have alternate forms called Mode Elegant. Later, they use the Crystal Princess Rod for stronger attacks, and Cure Scarlet uses the Scarlet Violin. They gain even more power with the Princess Palace and Premium and Royal Dress Up Keys. Their group introduction is "Strongly! Gently! Beautifully! Go! Princess Pretty Cure!" and their catchphrase is about retrieving locked-away dreams. Cure Scarlet has a slightly different version of this catchphrase.

Haruka Haruno, voiced by Yū Shimamura, is the main protagonist. She is a cheerful 13-year-old first-year student at Noble Academy who loves princess stories and often says things are "in full bloom." As a child, she was bullied for her dream until Kanata encouraged her. In the epilogue, she is an adult with a crystal replica of her Dress Up Key.
