Making and release

That manga was published in English in 2004.[2] At Otakon 2013, Sunrise stated that Sentai Filmworks had acquired the rights to Infinite Ryvius and several other former Bandai Entertainment properties.[3] The manga adaptation, spanning two volumes, came out alongside the TV series between 1999 and 2000.[2] In 2000, the parody ONA series titled Infinite Ryvius: Illusion was made available.[2]

What the cited sources add

The reviewer at THEM Anime Reviews awarded it 4 stars out of 5, calling it "a solid, solid release".[4] In The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction, the show is described as stylistically austere and largely humourless.[1] That entry notes that reviewers lauded its complex, evolving characters.[1] Some criticism was aimed at its deliberate pacing and occasionally rough animation.[1]

According to the SFE, Infinite Ryvius is "now regarded as a notable late-1990s experiment in psychologically driven anime space opera".[1] At the fifth Animation Kobe in 2000, Infinite Ryvius received the Best TV Animation award.[5]
