The Goodfeathers
Three gangster pigeons modelled on Goodfellas.
The Goodfeathers are a trio of anthropomorphic pigeons in Animaniacs: Squit, Bobby and Pesto, Italian American gangsters from New York. They are voiced by Maurice LaMarche, John Mariano and Chick Vennera and are modelled on the roles of Ray Liotta, Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci in Goodfellas.
Lore & Background
Their shorts are less about life in the Goodfeathers crime syndicate than about the trio's failure to cope with everyday problems. The syndicate is led by the Godpigeon, an elderly pigeon and a parody of Vito Corleone in The Godfather, who mumbles unintelligibly while Bobby translates; the three show their respect by kissing his foot. Their girlfriends, the Girlfeathers, are the doves Sasha, Lana and Kiki.
Reader's Guide
Squit is grey, Bobby turquoise and Pesto lavender. Sasha, Squit's girlfriend, is Pesto's equally hot-tempered sister. The music of the segments was written in the style of Martin Scorsese's films and The Godfather, and composer Richard Stone played the mandolin in the first of them.
