Cyan

A gemologist who trusts crystals more than colleagues.

Cyan is the sweet hippie gemologist aboard the Skeld spaceship in the animated series Among Us. Voiced by Kimiko Glenn, this character stands out as a unique individual rather than a generic player avatar. Cyan serves as the research partner to Black, the goth geologist, despite official paperwork incorrectly listing them as a geologist themselves. This role places them at the center of the crew's scientific efforts, even if their methods differ significantly from traditional science.

Lore & Background

Within the crew aboard the Skeld, Cyan operates as a believer in crystal healing, astral signs, and tarot cards. Their partnership with Black is defined by friction; while they work together on research, their differing worldviews cause annoyance for the cynical geologist. The official paperwork designating Cyan as a geologist creates an ironic layer to their character, as their true expertise lies in gemology and metaphysical practices rather than rock formation analysis. This dynamic highlights the diverse and often clashing personalities trying to survive the Impostor's sabotage. Unlike generic crewmates, Cyan has a specific history of working alongside Black, bringing a spiritual perspective to a high-stakes environment where logic usually prevails.

Reader's Guide

In the animated adaptation, Cyan is not a selectable color but a named character with a fixed role. Players cannot control Cyan directly; instead, they are part of the narrative following the crew's struggle against the Impostor. To understand Cyan, one must recognize their specific traits: they are the gemologist who trusts in crystal healing and tarot cards. They are paired with Black, the goth geologist, a relationship documented in ship paperwork that mistakenly identifies Cyan as a geologist. This error underscores the bureaucratic chaos aboard the Skeld. Fans of the show should look for Kimiko Glenn's voice work to identify Cyan during meetings and task sequences, noting their unique perspective on the crisis compared to more pragmatic crewmates like Purple or Lime.
