Overview

Tigger resides in the Hundred Acre Wood from the start, while Kanga and Roo are introduced as newcomers. Neither Christopher nor his mother speaks with an English accent; Christopher has an American accent. Kessie, the bluebird from The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, returns as a main character. Each episode begins with Christopher Robin's mother calling him to school, after which his book opens and the theme song begins. The show is non-canonical in other ways: Tigger can climb down from trees, Christopher Robin and his mother's faces are never shown, and Rabbit lives in a tree rather than a burrow.

Cast

The show’s characters often break into song and dance to move the plot forward. Most episodes stray far from A. A. Milne’s original tales, keeping only the familiar cast. Chris Renaud, who later co-directed Despicable Me, handled the production design. The regular voice cast includes Jim Cummings as both Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, John Fiedler as Piglet’s speaking voice with Jeff Bennett singing for the character, Ken Sansom as Rabbit, Peter Cullen as Eeyore, Andre Stojka as Owl, Stephanie D’Abruzzo as Kessie, Kath Soucie as Kanga, Nikita Hopkins as Roo, Paul Tiesler as Christopher Robin, Vicki Eibner as his mother, and Roger L. Jackson as Mr. Narrator. Pooh and Tigger from this series later showed up in a music video produced by the We Are Family Foundation.

Film

The six episodes of this direct-to-video release are each devoted to a different character from the television series. A simple story about the gang waiting for Christopher Robin in his room ties the episodes together. The film, a compilation of TV footage, was produced by Shadow Projects and distributed by Buena Vista Television on VHS and DVD. Each episode, as in the series, includes an original song.
