Plot

Dwight, a present-day teenager, falls into an ancient underground chamber and lands on Gretta, a Gothic princess magically sleeping for a thousand years. His inadvertent kiss breaks the spell, also awakening her court magician Baldric and scores of medieval villains. Dwight becomes Gretta's de facto champion until her enemies are defeated, while helping her adapt to high school life.

Cast and characters

Sloane Morgan Siegel plays Dwight, a model Generation Z kid who is sensitive, open-minded, health-conscious, responsible, and non-confrontational. He is not interested in becoming a rough champion and approaches the role his own way. Caitlin Carmichael portrays Gretta, a princess from a gothic war zone who cannot understand 21st-century manners and is not interested in adapting, described as more Wonder Woman than fairy tale princess. Joel McCrary plays Baldric, the court magician who placed the spell on Gretta to save her life; he is protective of Gretta but not fond of Dwight as champion. Danielle Bisutti appears as Witch Hexela, who has a complicated past with Baldric as a former lover; after reconciling, she joins the team to protect Gretta. Evan Hofer plays Chlodwig, originally Gretta's fiancé, who becomes friends with Dwight and trains him in knighthood, though his clumsiness creates comedic situations.
