Production

In October 2024, Marvel Studios Animation and Disney Jr. revealed Iron Man and His Awesome Friends, a preschool series spun off from Spidey and His Amazing Friends, with Atomic Cartoons co-producing. The show aims to introduce Marvel characters to young viewers. Executive producers are Harrison Wilcox and Sean Coyle, who also serves as showrunner; James Eason-Garcia is co-executive producer, and Michael Dowding directs. The lead heroes are voiced by Mason Blomberg as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Kapri Ladd as Riri Williams/Ironheart, and Aidyn Ahn as Amadeus Cho/Iron Hulk.

David Kaye returns as Vision, and Fred Tatasciore voices the dog Gamma. In May 2025, Tony Hale, Vanessa Bayer, and Talon Warburton joined as villains Ultron, Swarm, and the Absorbing Man. Matthew Margeson wrote the score, while Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus composed the theme song “Totally Awesome,” released as a single on June 27, 2025. A soundtrack with seven original songs followed on August 15, 2025.

Reception

John Betancourt of Nerds That Geek described the series as an age-appropriate superhero introduction for young audiences, with stories emphasizing teamwork, kindness, and perseverance that remain enjoyable for adults. Mike Mack of LaughingPlace noted that the show carries over the charm of Spidey and His Amazing Friends with a vibrant, fast-paced format and rock-infused theme music appealing to millennial viewers, though he cautioned that the high energy may overstimulate some children and that a young Tony Stark might seem unusual to longtime Marvel fans. Mack praised the voice cast and inclusion of popular characters. Streaming analytics firm FlixPatrol reported that Meet Iron Man and His Awesome Friends was the second most-streamed title on Disney+ in the United States on July 17, 2025.

Tie-in media

In August 2025, Penguin Random House released a picture book titled Iron Man and His Awesome Friends: Meet the Iron Friends as part of the World of Reading collection. Another picture book, Iron Man and His Awesome Friends: Catch That Robot, was released in January 2026 as part of the Step Into Reading collection. On August 8, 2025, it was announced that characters from the series would appear in two crossover specials with Spidey and His Amazing Friends, previewing Avengers: Mightiest Friends. The first special, Spidey and Iron Man: Avengers Team-Up!, premiered on October 16, 2025; the second, Spidey and the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up!, is scheduled for September 24, 2026.
