Story
The first episode introduces Samuel, Diana, their son Macky, and their parrot Pontius, who live in the Delta Quarter and hide rebels in their home. Samuel's friend, a rebel commander in Judea, sends his daughters Leah and Rebecca to stay with them. In episode two, Macky and Rebecca meet Portia, the governor's niece, who becomes a friend unaware of their rebel activities. Episode three introduces Miriam and Nathan, fellow rebels, and their adopted African son Sollie.
The first season follows journeys to protect rebels until Tobias discovers the truth, forcing the family to flee Alexandria. Macky and Portia arrive in Jerusalem during the Roman siege, where Macky meets Isaac, a rebel who pretends to be senile, and becomes a courier between Jerusalem and the outside world. Inside Jerusalem, Macky meets Sarah, a Zealot, straining his relationship with Portia. He also befriends Lucius, a Roman officer and secret Friend of Jesus.
Macky faces old adversaries Tobias and Brutacus, takes greater risks, and is captured by the Romans. Portia ensures Macky is sent to Rome, his only hope.
