Wicked! is an Australian animated series adapted from the book series by Paul Jennings and Morris Gleitzman. Co-produced by Energee Entertainment and France Animation, it follows step-siblings Rory and Dawn protecting their town from the Appleman’s viruses. By late 2001, it was Energee’s top seller, earning over €8 million.
Characters
Dawn is a redheaded girl who lost her mother in a bus accident. She enjoys sports and video games but struggles in school, failing science and facing bullying from Tori and Tiffany. She and her new stepbrother Rory constantly argue, yet they must cooperate to stop the Appleman's plans. Rory is a smart brown-haired boy whose parents divorced.
His biological father disappeared years ago, but on the day of his mother's wedding, Rory receives a package containing an apple-headed doll. It is later revealed that the Appleman is Rory's father. The Appleman, the main villain, lives in a lab hidden inside an abandoned refinery filled with animal minions. He has a rotten apple for a head and wears a suit with a blue tie, seeking to spread misery through a virus that feeds on negative emotions.
Jack is Dawn's father and Rory's stepfather, working as a sheep shearer. Eileen is Rory's mother and Dawn's stepmother, a mail courier who rides a motorcycle. Gramps, Dawn's grandfather, is a World War II veteran who often assists the children. Tori and Tiffany are Dawn's bratty school rivals; Tori has dirty blonde hair and wears green, while Tiffany has dark brown hair and wears pink.
