Characters

Reilly O'Reilly, voiced by James Kee, is the main protagonist and antihero. He is paralyzed from the neck down and uses a wheelchair after being run over by his future neighbor, Mort Bromberg. A lawsuit against Mort yields him a luxury home in Forest Hills, which he invites his friends to live in. He is an apathetic and cynical slacker whose incentives include fornicating with his girlfriend Franny, drinking, and hatching new get-rich-quick schemes that typically end in disaster.

Franny, voiced by Terri Hawkes, is Reilly's soulmate, spiritual advisor, lover, and best friend. She appears as a sexualized love-interest and a stereotypical hippie into environmental activism, sexuality, and New Age spiritualism, and abstains from shaving her bodily hair except on special occasions as a gift to Reilly. She acts as the moral center of an amoral household and is a frequent object of lust for perverted men like Blazer. Spalding, voiced by Matthew King, is one of the more stable members of the group and Reilly's personal caregiver.

He is a homosexual with a well-built physique, originally from Australia. Though well-intentioned, he is a drama queen who craves attention and lets his overt sexuality get the best of him. Blazer, voiced by Cliff Saunders, lost his entire body due to gambling debts and is reduced to a disembodied head mounted on a skateboard. He is a crude, ill-mannered, cantankerous pervert who will go to any length to proposition women for obscene sexual favors.

Lefty, voiced by Paul Haddad, was a professional masseur whose hands were bitten off after he mistook a wild dog's behind for a client's back. He now uses prosthetic metal hooks, which make everyday tasks difficult, and is an educated, cultured individual who often clashes with his housemates. Fontaine, voiced by Maurice Dean Wint, is a blind black man with a gentle, caring demeanor. Due to his blindness and trusting nature, he is frequently taken advantage of by Reilly and Blazer.

One episode reveals he has an illegitimate son who is also blind. Griz, voiced by Hamish Hughes, is a large, disheveled man with an Irish accent who runs a dilapidated dive bar infested with rats and cockroaches. He is perpetually drunk and prone to fits of alcoholic rage and poor judgment. Mort Bromberg, voiced by Marvin Kaye, is the man who ran over Reilly, crippling him.

Feeling guilty, Mort unwittingly buys Reilly an extravagant mansion next to his own, to the chagrin of his wife Liz, who despises Reilly and his friends. Despite caring for his wife, Mort is often met with Liz's callous indifference. Liz Bromberg, voiced by Diane Fabian, is Mort's cold-blooded wife who detests Reilly and his friends simply because they are disabled. She initially tried to have them evicted, but later episodes revolve around her finding ways to take advantage of them.

Deborah, voiced by Linda Kash, is the group's physical therapist who runs a rehabilitation clinic. She is cheerful and positive but addresses the group in a patronizing manner, especially Fontaine. Sister Butch, voiced by Corinne Conley, is a Catholic nun residing in the cathedral next door to Reilly's house. She frequently spies on him with binoculars and is a harsh, vindictive disciplinarian who believes she is doing God's work, often attempting to force her views on others.
