Jamie Dutton
Adopted son of John Dutton who becomes Attorney General of Montana.
James Michael "Jamie" Dutton, played by Wes Bentley, is the adopted son of John and Evelyn Dutton and an aspiring politician. He was adopted as an infant after his biological father, Garrett Randall, murdered his mother and went to prison. Dalton Baker plays a young Jamie in scenes set in the 1990s.

Jamie starts out completely loyal to his father and family, but their intolerance and mistreatment of him eventually push him to follow his own path. He and his sister Beth hate each other, a feud that grows more pronounced as the series goes on. In the third season he becomes Attorney General of Montana. He has a son, named after himself, with his former assistant Christina, who had worked on his campaign for attorney general.
