Astra Militarum

The Imperial Guard.

The Astra Militarum, or Imperial Guard, is with the Space Marines one of the two most common Imperium forces in Warhammer 40,000. It is subdivided into hundreds of regiments; notable Imperial Guard units include the Cadian Shock Troops and the Death Korps of Krieg, the latter based on World War I Germany.
