His ultimate design was to create the Cicatrix Maledictum across the galaxy, drowning the material universe in the warp. This goal culminated in his Thirteenth Black Crusade, a cataclysmic campaign where he unleashed a massive fleet and dark sorcery to shatter the fortress-world of Cadia. The planet's destruction tore open the Cicatrix Maledictum, birthing an age of darkness known as the Indomitus Era. Since then, Abaddon has launched further campaigns, including the Fourteenth Black Crusade.

The void screamed as the Void Dragon's shadow eclipsed the shattered moon. Upon the bridge of his flagship, the *Despoiler*, Abaddon watched the burning ruin of Cadia below—the Cadian Gate broken, the great fortress-world reduced to a graveyard of stone and ash.
