Tenno
Warriors woken from a millennia-long cryosleep, named for the Zariman Ten Zero.
The Tenno are the warriors the player controls in Warframe, woken from a millennia-long cryosleep on Earth by a woman called the Lotus, who guides them through the game. They join an interplanetary war in the Origin System, the far-future Solar System, against the Grineer, the Corpus, the Infested, the Sentients and the Corrupted. Like every faction in the game, the Tenno were created by or split from the fallen Orokin Empire.
Lore & Background
The Tenno are revealed to be the children who survived the passage of the Zariman Ten Zero colony ship through the Void, which drove every adult aboard mad; the name Tenno is short for the Ten Zero. Returned to the Orokin Empire, the children were put to sleep for thousands of years and outlasted the Empire's fall before the Lotus found them. The Void gave them the power to control Warframes, and the Sentients' return led to the Old War, the creation of the Tenno and the collapse of the Empire.
