Orokin Empire
The fallen civilisation that once ruled the Origin System.
The Orokin Empire was an ancient, long-dead transhuman civilisation and the former reigning power of the Origin System. Every faction in Warframe, the Tenno included, was created by or split from it, and its lingering presence is felt throughout the system.
Lore & Background
Realising the Origin System was running dangerously low on resources, the Orokin sent colony ships through the Void to new star systems, with the Sentients sent ahead to terraform the Tau system. No colony ship returned, and the Sentients came back bent on wiping out the Orokin, bringing the Old War and the Empire's collapse. Ballas, one of the last living Orokin, is assumed to have created the Warframes.
