Lore & Background
The 1977 league title took Malmö into the 1978-79 European Cup, where wins over AS Monaco, Dynamo Kyiv, Wisła Kraków and Austria Wien carried them to the final. That run is the greatest success in the club's history and made Malmö the only Nordic side to have reached a European Cup or Champions League final; the team received the Svenska Dagbladet Gold Medal for it.
