The Alchemist
Playable hero of Torchlight, villain of Torchlight II.
The Alchemist is one of Torchlight's three character classes: a spellcaster drawn to the magical power of Ember who fires blasts of magic and electricity from a specialized focus glove and can summon imps and steampunk-styled robots.
Lore & Background
Years later, in Torchlight II, the Alchemist is corrupted by the Ember Blight from the Heart of Ordrak and destroys the town of Torchlight. Driven insane by his illness and searching for a cure, he uses Ordrak's power to disturb the balance of the world's six elements, and the player follows his trail of destruction. The first game's classes are not playable in Torchlight II; they appear as NPCs.
