"Pushit" is a song on Tool's 1996 album Ænima. Its title is written as one word to keep the pronunciation ambiguous, between "push it on me" and "push shit on me".
Lore & Background
An alternate live version, with a tabla solo by Aloke Dutta, appears on the 2000 box set Salival; Danny Carey had studied tabla with Dutta. Justin Chancellor plays a Music Man Stingray bass on the song. During one performance of "Pushit", Maynard James Keenan, known for keeping his distance on stage, let a fan who had climbed up hug him, which surprised even devoted fans.
