Frank Darabont
Filmmaker who developed The Walking Dead for television.
Frank Darabont is an American screenwriter, director and producer, best known for adapting Stephen King in The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and The Mist. He developed The Walking Dead television series from the comic by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard, and executive-produced its first season.

When AMC ordered a pilot in January 2010, Darabont and Gale Anne Hurd were executive producers, with Darabont writing and directing it; he wrote or co-wrote four of the first season's six episodes. Several of the early cast had worked with him before, including Laurie Holden, Jeffrey DeMunn and Melissa McBride. AMC removed him as showrunner in July 2011, early in the second season, and his departure led to breach-of-contract lawsuits.
