Plot
The Announcer Salesman flees a town after swindling its inhabitants, barely avoiding a cliff when his tire blows out. He spots a "feud zone" where two neighbors, Ewalt and Abner, are locked in a bitter feud. Deciding to exploit their stupidity, he aims to swindle their money. He first visits Abner, who can barely remember his own name and identifies Ewalt as his enemy.
The Salesman trades a pointy stick for the stick Abner is hammering, demanding "monetary compensation"; Abner, amazed by trade, retrieves $1 million from his wealthy grandfather to buy more sticks. The Salesman then visits Ewalt, making him jealous of Abner wearing sticks, and sells him flypaper from France, claiming it is worn by the stupidest people there. Ewalt also gets money from his ancient grandfather. The Salesman repeats the trick: Abner buys mousetraps after envying Ewalt's flypaper, Ewalt buys a beehive girdle, then the duo purchase an elephant tosser with an elephant and an elephant catcher glove.
The elephant flattens Abner, and the Salesman grudgingly pays the elephant a commission after being threatened. Abner briefly suspects a hoax but is intimidated by the Salesman's insults. The Salesman convinces him to become a kamikaze bomber carrying a nuclear weapon from a plane. The bombing destroys both houses, prompting the duo to reconcile. The Salesman drives away feeling moral, with his wealth and Abner's grandfather.
