Emma and Ray lead the children out of Grace Field House.
With Norman gone, Emma and Ray escape from Grace Field House with the children aged five and over, leaving half of the younger children behind. Phil leads the children aged four and under in staying at the orphanage.

During the escape Emma cuts off her right ear so Isabella cannot find them. Isabella is kept alive because of her skill and offered the position of Grandma, with the previous Grandma blamed for the escape; she accepts only so she can help the children when they come back for their younger siblings.
