The Court of Shadows is a top-tier multiverse faction specializing in paid assassinations. Its assassins follow Umbra and mainly use the dark affinity. It is also one of the leading information brokers of the multiverse, building dossiers on power players, and it takes mercenary work such as clearing monster-infested areas, defense and search and rescue. On Earth it is led by Caleb Thayne and based in the two cities of Skyggen.

Background
The Court is the multiverse's go-to for killing hard targets and one of its leading information brokers, building dossiers on power players and even taking mercenary work clearing monsters or defending areas. Its contracts have rules: it will not kill the world leaders of planets where it is stationed, contracts last only a set time, and its assassins do not punch down unless attacked first. Judges run day-to-day operations in their area and balance the Court's illegal work against being too useful to remove. The Holy Church is its biggest client, and the Darkwood Chimera was once contracted to kill Jake.
