Background

Set in Medford, Texas in the mid-1990s, it follows the marriage of Georgie Cooper, Sheldon's older brother, and Mandy McAllister, who is 11 years his senior, as they raise their daughter CeeCee while still living with Mandy's parents. Montana Jordan and Emily Osment star; Georgie works at the auto service shop owned by his father-in-law Jim, which he and co-worker Ruben buy from him at the end of the first season, while Mandy, a former Bluebell Diner waitress, reports the weather for the local television station.

Rachel Bay Jones plays Mandy's critical mother Audrey, Will Sasso her father Jim, Dougie Baldwin her unemployed brother Connor and Jessie Prez the quick-witted Ruben. Zoe Perry, Annie Potts and Raegan Revord recur as Mary Cooper, Meemaw and Missy.

A second season was ordered in February 2025 and premiered on October 16, 2025; a third, renewed in January 2026, is slated to start on October 8, 2026.
