The Big Bang Theory Codexery

CBS

The network that aired all twelve seasons.

CBS is the network for which Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady created The Big Bang Theory. After a reworked second pilot, CBS ordered 13 episodes on May 14, 2007; the pilot was offered free on iTunes before airing, and the series premiered on CBS on September 24, 2007. In December 2024 CBS's parent company Paramount Global acquired non-exclusive cable rights for Nick at Nite and MTV, sharing linear rights that the TBS contract had made non-exclusive. CBS now refers to Penny by the married name Penny Hofstadter, although the show never confirmed that she took Leonard's surname.
