Electronic Arts
The publisher that held the mobile Tetris license from 2006 to 2020.
Electronic Arts held the license for Tetris on mobile devices from 2006 to 2020, with commercial success; in December 2005 it began acquiring JAMDAT, whose Tetris had been selling well on American carrier phones. EA's hold on the license made it hard for Tetsuya Mizuguchi to make the music game that became Tetris Effect, and it gave financial support to the 2011 Classic Tetris World Championship.
