Tansener Tanpura (meaning "Tansen's Tanpura") is a Bengali musical mystery web series centered on Hindustani classical music's notes and melodies. Soumik Chattopadhyay directed it, and it premiered on the Hoichoi streaming platform on 26 June 2020. A second season followed on 13 November 2020.
The story follows a young protagonist who travels in search of eerie occurrences and hidden truths, drawn to a tanpura said to be filled with musical magic and numerous enigmas. The main cast includes Vikram Chatterjee, Rupsa Chatterjee, Jayati Bhatia, Rajat Ganguly, Debesh Roychowdhury, Sujan Mukherjee, Subhashish Mukherjee, and Bhaskar Banerjee. On 22 June 2020, Hoichoi released an animated short that revisits the story's backstory.
The series features a large ensemble, with Vikram Chatterjee playing Alap, Rupsa Chatterjee as Shruti, and Jayati Bhatia as Madhubanti Mishra, among many others. Season one, consisting of five episodes, began streaming on 26 June 2020, with the remaining episodes released on 3 July 2020. The original soundtrack was composed by Joy Sarkar with lyrics by Srijato; the song "Chhonnochhara Mon" was performed by Somlata Acharyya Chowdhury, Jimut Roy, and Soham Chakraborty.
