Format

Josh Gates designed this series as a dual experiment in the paranormal and human psychology. A trio of believers and skeptics, from different backgrounds, is isolated for days inside famously haunted North American sites. Using handheld night-vision cameras and fixed units, the group records its own growing fear, suspicion, and isolation. Each episode ends with a playback of the footage and one-on-one interviews about their personal experiences.

Reception

Mark Perigard of the Boston Herald gave an overall negative review, stating that boredom, isolation, and the power of suggestion, along with off-screen production assistants, produce a horribly predictable show. TV by the Numbers announced the show with a more positive review, calling it a unique combination of psychology and the paranormal.
