Everybody Hates Chris (written in all lowercase) is an American sitcom that blends fiction with Chris Rock's own teenage years, created by Rock and Ali LeRoi. It first aired on UPN from 2005 to 2006, then moved to The CW until 2009. The show loosely draws from Rock's time growing up in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant between 1982 and 1987, though his actual adolescence ran from 1978 to 1984 (he was born in 1965). Its title spoofs the CBS sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond. Originally developed for Fox, the series was passed to UPN for its first season, then shifted to The CW for the remaining three seasons.
