Plot
One month before the series, a phenomenon fused the human world with the parallel world of Kikaitopia, which had conquered and sealed off the universes of the previous 44 Super Sentai. Humans and Kikainoids coexist peacefully until the Tozitend Dynasty threatens all parallel worlds. Kaito Goshikida inherits the powers of all prior Super Sentai, transforms into Zenkaizer, and teams with Kikainoids Juran, Gaon, Magine, and Vroon as the Zenkaigers to stop Tozitend and find Kaito's missing parents. Later, the World Pirates, led by Zocks Goldtsuiker (Twokaizer), oppose Tozitend and occasionally ally with the Zenkaigers.
Production
Toei Company filed the trademark for the series on September 8, 2020. Producer Shinichiro Shirakura stated that the team's diversity—one human and four Kikainoids—reflects the Super Sentai series' recurring themes of diversity while maintaining strong characters. Zenkaizer was chosen as the white-colored leader to stand out in future crossovers alongside red warriors. The four Kikainoids' warrior forms were based on mecha from previous Super Sentai: Zenkai Zyuran on Daizyujin from Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger, Zenkai Gaon on Gao King from Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger, Zenkai Magine on Magi King from Mahō Sentai Magiranger, and Zenkai Vroom on DaiBouken from GoGo Sentai Boukenger. Although open to featuring past heroes, Shirakura noted it would not be done like Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger. The original plan for the combined mecha ZenkaiOh to appear human-sized was scrapped due to toy release schedules, but the concept was later implemented in the sequel Avataro Sentai Donbrothers with Don Onitaijin. After voice actor Tatsuhisa Suzuki went on hiatus, his role Gege was voiceless from episodes 21 to 25; Masaya Fukunishi took over from episode 25 onward. The series ranked 19th in the 2021 "100 Internet Buzzwords" in Japan, with the physical award given to producers Shirakura, Naomi Takebe, Kōichi Yada, and Akihiro Fukada on December 15, 2021.
