Praetor Fenix

Fenix is a Protoss templar in StarCraft and an old friend of Tassadar, a strong and clever leader who distrusts the ruling judicator caste. Defending Aiur from the Zerg under Aldaris, he falls at Antioch when his psi-blades fail, but is placed in a dragoon so he can keep fighting. He sides with Tassadar in the split with the Protoss government, leads the attack on the Overmind's outer defenses and becomes a close friend of Jim Raynor. In Brood War he and Raynor hold the warp gate as the Protoss leave Aiur, then ally with Sarah Kerrigan against the UED; after the UED is driven from Korhal, Kerrigan turns on them and her Zerg kill Fenix at his base camp. In Legacy of the Void a copy of his personality in an ancient Purifier body is found on Glacius; it helps Artanis win the Purifiers' support and renames itself Talandar. Bill Roper voiced him in StarCraft and Brood War.
