Historically, key members include Darth Bane, who reformed the order; Count Dooku, who served as a political frontman; Darth Vader, the enforcer of the Empire; and Emperor Palpatine, the mastermind behind the Republic's fall. Their military strength was never their own but rather the vast armies of the Galactic Empire, which they manipulated to crush opposition.
