"The City on the Edge of Forever" is the penultimate episode of the original Star Trek's first season, first aired on NBC on April 6, 1967. It was written by Harlan Ellison, with later work by Steven W. Carabatsos, D. C. Fontana and Gene L. Coon and a final rewrite by Gene Roddenberry, and directed by Joseph Pevney.
