Background
The series centers on Carlota "Cucu" Castelli, played by Olivia Goncalves, with Dascha Polanco voicing Adult Cucu. Her father Victor Castelli (Juan Javier Cardenas) is a rising executive with an airline serving Florida and the Caribbean, and her mother Adela Castelli (Diana-Maria Riva) navigates the family's new life. Cucu's sister Emilia (Savannah Nicole Ruiz) and friends like Ashley (Cosette Hauer), Yosmel "Yoshy" Hernandez (Noah Rico), Dani (Tati McQuay), and Rigo (Noah Cottrell) populate her world. Victor's boss Mr. Frank (Patrick Fabian) and Keith Colorado (Pete Gardner) also appear. The show's 1980s Miami setting is key to Cucu's coming-of-age story as a willful and reluctant "gordita."
