Moving (South Korean TV series)
A supernatural drama of three families with hidden powers.
Last updated
The series follows three teenagers who inherit superpowers from their secret agent parents.[1] In 2023, a South Korean television series titled Moving, which blends action, fantasy, and sci-fi genres, was released; it is an adaptation of a webtoon created by Kang Full.[2] Within its first week of release, Moving achieved the highest viewership of any Korean original series on Disney+ worldwide, measured by total hours streamed.[3]
Making and release
Kang Full wrote the screenplay himself, marking the first time he adapted his own webtoon for screen.[1] Production began on August 26, 2021, after casting was completed on August 23.[4] The production staff split into two teams, with Park Yoon-seo leading the second team.[5] Park In-je and Park Yoon-seo served as the co-directors for the series.[2]
The production of the series utilized more than 7,000 computer-generated imagery shots.[6] Disney+ designated Moving as its flagship program for the entire Asian region, an announcement made on October 13, 2021.[6] The initial seven episodes of the series became available on Disney+ starting August 9, 2023.[7] After the premiere, two new episodes were made available each week, and the concluding three episodes were all released on September 20.[7]
January 19, 2024, was the release date for the official soundtrack album of the show.[8] On December 22, 2024, the drama had its first broadcast on traditional television through the MBC network.[9]
What the cited sources add
Kang Full released his first webtoon, Love Story, in 2003.[1] A major theme of Moving is the sacrifices secret agent parents make to protect their children.[1] Disney confirmed in November 2024 that a second season is being developed, with a planned launch in 2026.[10][3]
